As part of the opening activities of the first NASCAR race held at the speedway in 2001, track officials unveiled a 300 pound statue of stock car racing legend Darrell Waltrip.
The statue depicts Waltrip's famous Daytona 500 No. 1 pose where Darrell victoriously signifies his greatness.
