The Best of the Best … The Racing Legends of North American Motorsports

Some of the most famous racing legends in the wide world of motorsports have come out of North America’s premier racing organizations – the Indy Racing League and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing.

Race drivers have always enjoyed a special place in the hearts of North American sports fans. Motorsports play such a huge role in the makeup of the American fabric that even Hollywood and auto racing have enjoyed a solid love affair since the early days of movie production.

Ever since the very first Indy 500 in 1909, the American public's fascination with speed has grown to where today the Indianapolis 500 is the most revered race in all of North American motorsports and NASCAR is the largest spectator sport in television viewership, second only to the NFL.

As with any sport that entertains such a huge audience, many of the major players - in this case, the race car drivers, crew chiefs and team owners - have become household names and achieved cult status among die-hard auto racing fans.
