Mapping Out Your Travel Route
Many travelers today rely on their Global Positioning System (GPS) to guide them safely to their destination. However, as many GPS users will attest, the directions you get are not always the easiest, safest, and quickest route to get where you want to go.Although GPS technology serves as a very valuable traveling tool, it never hurts to do a little mapping research online to ensure yourself the quickest and safest route possible. Two of the best travel tools online are Google Maps and MapQuest. Google Maps usually gives excellent directions and does a pretty good job of estimating how long a trip will take and how many miles you'll cover. Probably one of it's most helpful functions and definitely the coolest is the satellite view that allows you to zoom in on your destination. Want to see a image of your house on the Internet? Try this ... Go to Google Maps, search your address, click your location on the map and then use Street View to see a image of your house and neighborhood. You are not going to believe the quality of the satellite image of your house. Amazing! MapQuest also gives great directions, durations and distances. However, their website also offers several useful tools and resources for the frequent traveler.
